Mary Barra is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of General Motors Company. She was elected Chairman of the GM Board of Directors on January 4, 2016, and has served as CEO of GM since January 15, 2014. Under Barra’s leadership, GM envisions a world with zero crashes, to save lives; zero emissions, so future generations can inherit a healthier planet; and zero congestion, so customers get back a precious commodity – time. She’s focused on strengthening GM’s core business of great cars, trucks and crossovers, while also working to lead the transformation of personal mobility through advanced technologies like connectivity, electrification, autonomous driving and car sharing. Barra has also established a strategic direction based on putting the customer at the center of everything the company does. Prior to becoming CEO, Barra served as executive vice president, Global Product Development, Purchasing & Supply Chain since August 2013, and as senior vice president, Global Product Development since February 2011. In these roles, Barra and her teams were responsible for the design, engineering and quality of GM vehicle launches worldwide. Previously, she served as vice president, Global Human Resources; vice president, Global Manufacturing Engineering; plant manager, Detroit Hamtramck Assembly; and in several other executive engineering and staff positions. Barra began her career with GM in 1980 as a General Motors Institute (Kettering University) co-op student at the Pontiac Motor Division. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering in 1985, followed by a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1990. Barra serves on the Board of Directors of the Walt Disney Company, the Stanford University Board of Trustees and the Detroit Economic Club. She is a member of The Business Council and an At-Large Board Member of the Business Roundtable, where she also serves on the Social Issues Committee.

Doneen McDowell

Executive Director, Manufacturing, GMNA

Doneen McDowell has extensive experience in various leadership roles within General Motors over the past decade, including leading manufacturing P&L for Truck/Large SUV Assembly and Component Operations. Doneen has also played key roles in labor management relations, overseeing manufacturing sites for car and crossover vehicles, and leading the manufacturing engineering group responsible for developing new technology. Doneen holds a Master's degree in Manufacturing Management from Kettering University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Youngstown State University.

Susan Sheffield was named President and Chief Executive Officer of GM Financial in April 2025. She had previously been executive vice president and chief financial officer since April 2018. Prior to her role as CFO, Susan served as EVP and treasurer, beginning in 2014, and EVP, corporate finance, beginning in 2008. Sheffield joined GM Financial's legacy company, AmeriCredit, in 2001 as part of its investor relations department. Publicis Sapient has offices globally, more than 20,000 employees and cultivates key strategic relationships with a roster of blue-chip brands, advising clients on the impact of digital on their businesses and delivering solutions which help them innovate and compete more effectively in the digital age. Prior to Sapient, Wexler built and operated an independent business and technology consulting company. Wexler has extensive experience in digital business transformation, advertising and marketing. He also advises early-stage companies on how to compete with disruptive businesses models in a consumer-empowered era. Shilpan Amin is senior vice president and president, GM International, a role he assumed in April 2022. Amin is responsible for GM operations outside of North America and China. His objective is to deliver profitable growth in each of the markets in which GM competes. Previously, Amin was vice president, GM Global Purchasing and Supply Chain and responsible for the strategic direction of GM’s worldwide purchasing, supply chain and logistics operations. Amin began his career with GM in 1996 as a product engineer in Advanced Product Development for steering systems. Arden Hoffman was appointed senior vice president and chief people officer in January 2023. Prior to this role, Hoffman served as Cruise’s chief people officer, driving the company’s People strategy. Everett Eissenstat was named senior vice president, Global Public Policy, in August 2018. He is responsible for leading General Motors’ engagement on key policies impacting the company’s business, its customers and its employees. Prior to joining GM, Eissenstat worked in the White House as the deputy assistant to the president for International Economic Affairs and deputy director of the National Economic Council. Jointly appointed to the National Security Council and the National Economic Council, he led the White House international economic team responsible for the development of U.S. policies on international energy, international trade and development finance institutions. In this role, he also served as the lead U.S. negotiator for the G-20, APEC and G-7 international economic summits. He twice served as chief International Trade counsel for the Senate Finance Committee from 2000 to 2005 and again from 2011 to 2017. As chief counsel he drafted legislation implementing trade agreements and managed their consideration through the U.S. Congress. He also served as assistant U.S Trade representative for the Americas with the United State Trade Representative (USTR) from 2006 to 2011, where he negotiated and enforced international trade agreements and partnered with members of Congress on trade legislation. Eissenstat also previously worked as former Rep. Jim Kolbe’s legislative director and as an attorney in private practice in Dallas.
